Eminem Bio

Eminem was born Marshall Bruce Mathers III on October 17, 1972, in Kansas City, Missouri. He spent his childhood being shuttled between Kansas City and Detroit. After he attended high school , he hustled self-made cassettes to businesses such as Record Time in Roseville. His then girlfriend Kimberly gave birth to daughter Haile Jade on Dec. 25, 1995. He worked at Gilbert's Lodge (a family restaurant) in St. Clair Shores from 1996-1998. Full-length debut, Infinite, released in 1996. The Slim Shady EP was released in 1998 and that same year, Eminem was signed by Dr Dre to the Aftermath label after Dre heard Eminem free styling on a Los Angeles radio station. The Slim Shady LP was released on Feb. 23, 1999 and within weeks hit No. 2 on Billboard. The Slim Shady LP went platinum 3 times. Eminem put out his second full length CD, entitled The Marshall Mathers LP.

Things you might not know about Eminem:

When Eminem was a kid, he was bullied so badly that he was actually put him in a coma after a fight
Eminem did not get in trouble with the law as a kid. His first arrest happened when he was 20 and it was for shooting a paintgun at a police car. The charges were dropped.
Eminem has a younger half-brother named Nathan. Nathan Mathers lives part-time with Eminem in his Detroit mansion.
